Igniting Passion & Hidden Talents
Who We Are
Africa Youth-Now Foundation is a Christian organization that engages the youth and young professionals from diverse backgrounds to promote the integral development of children and young people in Africa. The organization has leadership from the international community and is headquartered in the U.S. and Ghana
Africa is the youngest continent in the world. The ten countries in the world with the youngest population are all from Africa. Forty-one percent of Africa’s population of just over 1.2 billion people is under the age of fifteen. More than 400 million young people are between the ages of 15 and 35 years. Investing in the giftedness of such young population is key to Africa’s integral human development efforts.
Innovating Young Minds For Greater Heights
Our Approach
We are collaborative and interdisciplinary in our approach. Our focus on the integral human development and the search for the common good is rooted in Catholic intellectual tradition and social teaching, the central tenets of which are shared by many religious and humanistic traditions.
What Is Integral Human Development?
Integral human development is the achievement of the holistic development of every person and of the whole human race (Paul VI, Populorum Progressio, 14). Since “only love can transform the human person,” integral human development seeks to build a civilization of love – “a humanism that is up to the standards of God's plan of love in history, an integral and solidary humanism capable of creating a new social, economic and political order, founded on the dignity and freedom of every human person, to be brought about in peace, justice and solidarity” (Compendium of Catholic Social Doctrine>, 19, 580-583).
Our focus on building a civilization of love puts the youth and young people at the forefront in promoting the rights and well-being of children and their families, providing next level education, and in promoting the good of every person and of all people through ethical leadership and a culture of service.
